We are helping out at the Big Day Out again this year at the Dublin Mini Maker Faire Area. We will be showing off show projects and running a learn to solder area, also on the stand there will also be some cool 3D printing demos from 3D Dave. The event runs from 12pm until 6pm on Saturday 16th of March in Merrion Square. If your in the area drop into us.
Hack Across Europe in Dublin
At the last Lockpicking Night (12th February) we had a special visitor to the space. Darren Kitchen is hacking his way around Europe, and last week he was in Dublin. He stopped by the space and filmed a segment of this Hak5 episode from our humble little brown leather sofa.
We’d like to take this opportunity to apologise for our boisterous lockpickers (you should hear our parties…), and hope it doesn’t distract too much from the great content about captive portals. By all accounts everyone had a great time, so if Darren is making his way to a town near you it’s worth looking him up. If not, there’s plenty at Hak5 to keep you entertained.

Majority of us have a wireless network in our house, and connect to it daily with our laptop, phone, games console, media player and now even televisions.
CryptoParty – Friday 8th March 2013
TOG is very pleased to announce that we will be holding the 3rd Dublin CryptoParty. Doors will be open from 7pm, and aim for a 7:30pm start, on Friday the 8th March 2013, and we will stay open as long as people are happy to stay ( within reason ).
CryptoParty attendees request you to respect their privacy and refrain from taking pictures or video at this event.
The idea of a CryptoParty is to make everyone more aware of their own on-line privacy and security in this vast inter-connected world that we live in. On the night we have the following talks planned:(in no particular order)

Engineers Week: Night of Ideas
TOG will host a night of inspiring talks. Each speaker will only have 15 minutes to convey to you their passion and enthusiasm on a given subject, idea or project. With six talks on the night you will be introduced to a diverse range of subjects.
