DojoCon takes place on Saturday 13th of April. A conference for mentors of the now global coder dojo movement. We are delighted to be showcasing hakerspaces along with our friends from lightbox lab.
TOG homebrew beer session Sunday 14th April
A 3rd beer homebrewing session is coming to TOG, this Sunday 14th April!
Award-winning brewchamps will be giving attendees detailed instructions, tips ‘n’ tricks, and generally giving the benefit of their expertise.
Beginner, intermediate and experienced brewers attend the brewing session, leading to in-depth, interesting and informative discussions for all.
We’ll start sometime between 10-11am and finish about 3-4pm; brewers tend to go round the corner to the Bull & Castle to socialise after.
Attendance is free and open to all (there may be a whip-around for donations to TOG tho).

Open-Source Night #2
The second open-source night will take place on Wednesday, March 20th, with a couple of tweaks.
6:30 – Doors open
7:00 – Talk: Introduction to open-source licences, Mark McLoughlin
7:15 – Talk: Contributing to Django, Julie Pichon
7:30 – Project super-lightning talks: Introduce the project you’ll be working on for the evening in 2 to 5 minutes, and get interested people to join in!
7:45 – Break into groups and contribute to a project 🙂
Remember, this is a hands-on event, please bring a laptop. We hope to see you there!
Lockpick group appears in Irish times
Every second tuesday the open-doors lock-picker’s group meets to discuss and play with everything lock related, and of course open as many locks as possible. Last tuesday was no different in this regard, but in one it was quite different: The Irish Times feature writer Patrick Freyne was in attendance to do a piece on the group.
His article Recreational lock-pickers open up about their craft was published online and off and gives a unique insight into the group and some of the good natured banter that is often encouraged among its attendees.
We’ve welcomed newbies to our group, regardless of background, gender or otherwise. So if your interest has been piqued or perhaps you’re looking for a bit of a challenge, I’d highly recommend you coming to our next group meet-up. No experience or special tools required, but if you bring a lock, we’ll give it a good seeing to!
Big Day Out – St Patrick’s Festival
We are helping out at the Big Day Out again this year at the Dublin Mini Maker Faire Area. We will be showing off show projects and running a learn to solder area, also on the stand there will also be some cool 3D printing demos from 3D Dave. The event runs from 12pm until 6pm on Saturday 16th of March in Merrion Square. If your in the area drop into us.
