Darklight Festival

We will be hosting a unique 2 day hardware hacking area at the upcoming darklight festival. We will be showcasing a wide range of projects created by our members . LED displays, Rubens Tube, e-clothing and pin hole photography.
Over the weekend drop by and learn how to capture images with our homemade pin hole cameras. Be  amazed at the printing of 3D objects with our Makerbot. Be flashy by  making one of our LED badges. Be thrilled by the heat of our infamous  Ruben’s tube.

Darklight takes place from Thursday 20 – Saturday 22 October in the The Factory, Barrow St. Tickets are available via the darklight website from €10.

Open Social October 1st


Open social starting around 7pm with food in Tog Dublin. If you’re around leave a message below and pop in, bring some beer, wine and hang out. We will have the rubans tube going and bit of music.

Hacking @ Electric Picnic

We had the pleasure of being invited to form a temporary hackerspace at the Electric Picnic music & arts festival. We set up our hackerspace with the help of members from TOG, Milk labs and 091 labs in the Mindflied area of the Picnic. We made our home in the Ingition Stage sharing the tent with the Science Gallery. Over the weekend we had a host of interesting people dropping by with over 200 people learning to solder.

Knife Switch

3rd time welding and did not do so bad.

Wanted to create an old style knife switch so that when people enter space they throw the switch and tell people space is open. Got quite a bit done just software to write at this weeks hackathon come along and give a hand.

Come along and give me a hand this weekend at Hackathon will be connecting to Arduno to set it up.

A4 Stand

Working on some plexy glass today taking the plexy and putting on side of bench you are able to heat up the side of it and then press down on it with piece of wood. This is shown in images below. What I did was took a piece of red plexy bigger than A4 and then measuring in few cm on each side bending over making sides. Then to fill in back and bottom just cut piece of see threw plexy and glued with super glue.
