Bought a screen today and started to play with it works really well.
Just a matter of printed off a design and made up a stencil out of plastic or event paper.
Stuck to back of screen and then run the screen + paint over it worked quite well here are some test we ran earlier on today.
Air Marshmallow Gun
This was part of this months hackathon, to build a marshmallow shooter .
This weekends Hackathon went very well with us building a high powered marshmallow gun running off an air compressor and running through a 1″ pipe. Check out the video below for how it was built and to see it working.
High Powered Marshmallow Gun
Keep an eye out for more projects that will be using this same tech but with marshmallows

Electronic “Build-It” Workshop
Join us at TOG for an afternoon electronic “build-it” workshop. This is a quick introduction to electronics. Participants get to build and take home a small electronic kit, which we’ve chosen as a good basic introductory kit. The workshop is suitable for beginners to electronics. If you’ve never built an electronics kit or soldered before, then this workshop is ideal for you. We’ll show you everything that you need to know.
We like this particular kit very much, and we think that it will provide you with great fun and mischief. To make it a bit more interesting, we’d prefer not to tell you what the kit is, but if you really want to know, contact us or sign up and we’ll tell you…. only if you promise to keep it to yourself!
In addition to building the kit, we’ll explain how the circuit works and you can test it with various electronic test equipment that we have at TOG. We’ll show you how to do that too.
The cost of this workshop is 30 euro and you can pay on the day. The workshop takes place at TOG on the afternoon of Saturday 5th November at 3PM. We should be finished by 5:30PM. You can sign up using the form below. That same evening we hold our regular open social event. You’re welcome to stick around for that, meet the other TOG’gers and visitors. As usual with our open socials, hang out, bring beer, food, gadgets etc!
Project: Playable LED Top
I’ve extended my Lilypad Arduino LED-Matrix top to make use of SparkFun’s ‘wearable’ keypad. Now you can draw on the top in LEDs! More details, especially on construction, on my blog.
Hand-Sewing Workshop; update
Hey all, I’m not long home from the Basic Hand-Sewing Workshop, and just wanted to say how much fun I had, how great it was to meet such good students, and to throw up a picture of their handiwork (that I’m very proud of)! They came in unable to sew (mostly) and left with finished (mostly), functional bags!
Next up is the Eletro-Sewing Workshop, where we’ll get to put our new found sewing skills to good use!
Workshop: Electro-sewing
We would like to invite you to Tog’s first ever electronic sewing workshop! As a simple first project, we will be making nice looking flowers with a LED centre.
We’ll be working with silver conductive thread (instead of wire), and creating a small circuit to power the LED (small light) from a coin-cell battery. The circuit will be hidden in the body of the felt flower, and the whole lot attached through a clip. You will get your choice of fabric and LED colours, so you can make something you could actually wear 🙂
If you’re interested in attending, ideally you already know how to hand sew (if not how come you missed our previous hand-sewing workshop!), but if not we’ll do our best to show you enough to complete the project on the day.
When: Friday, October 21st, from 7pm to 9pm
Cost: €5 for non-members, free for members (all materials provided on the day)
Space being very limited, please sign up using the form below the break. and we’re full-up now! If you’d like to contact us about similar events in the future please feel free to use the form below.
